"What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?" (Mark 8:36)

My understating of the Bible is God is not against wealth. God blessed Abraham with great wealth. God blessed Job with wealth. God allowed Satan to take the wealth away from Job. God restored the wealth after Job passed the test. King David and Solomon were extremely wealthy. Wealth in itself is not evil.

Yet, the Bible has numerous warnings against setting our minds on wealth. Money can easily become a snare and a root of evil. Enough is not enough for many, they desire to gain more and more. The more they have the more they desire. These people end up serving money instead of God. Jesus warns that we cannot serve God and money. (Luke 16:13-14) Jesus repeatedly tried to teach us that life is not about money. God does not care how much money we have. HE is not impressed with money. God does not measure our worth by the things we possess (Luke 12:15). Money can not get anyone into Heaven. Money can not buy love, our health, or salvation. We can not buy the things that really manner.

Jesus warns us not to lay up treasures for ourselves on earth, but to seek after true riches (Matthew 6:19-20). My mind keeps coming back to the rich man who could have been a disciple if only he could have given up his wealth (Mark 10:17-23). His money keep him from going to Heaven.

I wonder how disappointed God must be with people he has blessed with material possessions that do not share their blessings with others. Numerous human beings suffering, needing food, medical and dental care, shelter, clothes and so on.... How can we explain to God why we did not help others? God loves the needy too. Jesus died for them also.

For me, I think it must be a trust issue. I have food in my cabinets, closets running over with coats and clothes. I should take these things and go find people needing them, instead I save them for a rainy day. Why? God promised to meet my needs. HE always has met my needs. The Bible tells us that we are to live by faith! Jesus tells us not to worry about the basic necessities of life three times in these scriptures.  Matthew 6:25-34

Many Christians have let money and material possessions blind them. They give to charities (a tax write off). It makes them feel good to give to certain charities. These same people listen to the Satan led media. These professing Christians jump on this band wagon led by the Satan media of blaming and hating the poor. The Satan led media even goes as far as to teach us that we are causing the poor to be poor by helping them. They need to learn to stand on their on two feet. They could get a  job and help themselves. Yes, this maybe true but anyone can need help. God has told me not to judge but love.

I have heard people say they are extremely angry about people getting health insurance. I just look at them. I have seen pure hate that another human being is going to have a chance to seek medical attention. What kind of person is this? How can anyone be a Christian and resent another human being getting medical attention? How could I explain this to God? Well God, they are lazy and worthless and do not deserve healthcare? I can hear God saying, depart from me you do not know me. Why? Because I would not be showing the love for others that GOD has commanded us to show others without this, we are not Christians. I fail at this everyday. It is not easy to love others as we love ourselves. I pray to grow stronger in God's WORD and to love like God has command me.

This hate is what the Satan led media have put it into our minds. It is costing you money (taxes). So what? We will not take any money with us when we leave this world. Christians are falling into this media trap which is hate feed. I have never seen Jesus in a heart filled with evil hate. We are commanded by God Almighty to LOVE ONE ANOTHER.  We are suppose to give to others and God promised to bless us with even more. We must do this to be obedient to God.

I'll end this with this verse and question, "What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet
forfeit their soul? (Mark 8:36)

How to find true Happiness?

Twenty thirteen came to a fast end. Twenty fourteen is a new beginning. If you are looking for true happiness and inner most peace, may I suggest having a personal relationship with God.  In His love, we can find fulfillment that no human can provide.

Matthew 22:37-40

King James Version (KJV)
37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
38 This is the first and great commandment.
39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
